The Anderson Outpatient Infusion Center provides patients with a safe and comfortable outpatient setting to receive infusion therapy. Ambulatory services allow a patient to receive infusion therapy without hospitalization, restrictions on activity or home IV therapy. As an outpatient service, Medicare covers the Anderson Infusion Therapy Unit where other options for IV therapy may not be covered.
A primary care physician can order this therapy. Specially trained registered nurses administer infusion therapy. This service benefits a patient by decreasing the length of an inpatient stay in the hospital or may help avoid it entirely. It also allows the patient to maintain a normal routine with appointments available at convenient times.
• Administration of IV antibiotics and other medications
